Growing your own

To make a villain all we need to do is answer the following questions:

Where do they hang out? [caves, depths, experiments, realm, hordes, plains, swamps, undead, woods]

What’s their name?

How are they organized? [horde, group, solitary]

How tough are they? [1 to probably 10 but possibly more]

Why do they do what they do? Their instinct?

Is there anything special about them?

How big are they? [tiny, smal, normal, large, huge]

What can they do (consequences) and how much damage can they deal?

Description? [magical, devious, amorphous, organized, intelligent, hoarder, stealthy, terrifying, cautious, construct, planar]

Inspiration can come from anywhere. In the example below I used a quote from a kids show as the description:

Instinct To peck

Special Moo like a cow

Size Large

Consequences

• Peck rocks into smaller rocks

• Lay boulder sized eggs

• “Mooooooo”

• Deal damage: 

  • Peck for 2 disadvantage

  • Trample for 1 disadvantage

Description [Cautious, Oblivious]

"That isn't a cow. That's just my cave chicken".
